Typical project

What a realistic CCTV system for an apartment building looks like.

The figures below are an indicative range for this type of property, not statistics from completed jobs: we do not have reference projects yet (see the References section on the homepage). Your situation will differ; the range is a good starting point for a first conversation.

4 - 10

cameras for a building with 20 - 60 units

4K + IR

resolution with night vision for entrances and garages

7 - 14 days

retention period - typical range for shared spaces

1 - 2 days

installation without entering individual flats

Camera placement

  • ● Main entrance and lobby
  • ● Lifts and staircases (subject to the owners' association decision)
  • ● Garages and driveways
  • ● Cellar units and utility rooms
  • ● Bike storage and shared storage rooms
  • ● Outdoor perimeter and bin storage area

Technology

Our standard is UniFi Protect.

UniFi Protect is our default choice for apartment buildings too. Encrypted storage on the building's own network, not a third-party cloud, with role-based access - the association's board sees something different than the building manager.

Alternatives:
Dahua / Ajax (for larger buildings with a limited budget - we explain transparently what that means for recording quality and service)

  • 01 Encrypted storage, access limited to authorised board members
  • 02 Installation without the need to enter individual flats
  • 03 Motion-triggered recording - saves storage and reduces retention needs
  • 04 Rugged outdoor housings for exterior areas, garages and cellars
  • 05 Optional integration with an intercom or entry phone

Process

Consultation, design, installation, service. Fixed price after the second step.

For owners' associations we first inspect the shared areas (free of charge, within 7 days) and prepare the documents for the assembly vote - purpose, scope, retention. Then a written proposal with a fixed price.

Frequently asked questions

Before you contact us.

Who decides on installing cameras in an owners' association?
The decision belongs to the owners' assembly, not just the board. Before installation we help prepare the materials (purpose, scope, retention period) for the vote.
Does every owner need to consent to being monitored?
No. Cameras cover shared areas, not individual flats. The legal basis is usually the association's legitimate interest in protecting property, not individual consent.
Where do the information signs need to go?
At every entry point to the monitored area - the main door, garage entrance, cellar entrance. A sign with a camera pictogram, the controller's identity and contact details is a legal requirement.
Who is allowed to view the recordings?
Only an authorised person with an access log - typically a board member or a hired building manager. Not every owner automatically has the right to view the archive.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the number of cameras, cabling, building type and retention period. After the consultation you receive a fixed price by email, not an estimate. Consultation and design are free of charge.
