UniFi Protect by Ubiquiti is our default choice for businesses. The reason is straightforward: it is an enterprise network stack, not a camera set from the market. No Hikvision (US Entity List), no Dahua. Plus integration with WiFi, switches and time attendance, should you ever need them.

- What about GDPR and employee consent?
- Before installation, we handle camera coverage, retention periods, information signs and internal directives. For companies this is a legal obligation, not optional. It is part of the design, not an add-on after invoicing.
- Can we monitor the records remotely?
- Yes. UniFi Protect has a mobile app for both iOS and Android. Access is per user with an action log. Viewing recordings is a separate permission (not every account holder can see the archive).
- What happens if the internet goes down?
- The NVR records locally. You only need the internet for remote viewing and notifications. Recordings will never be lost due to connectivity outages.
- Can a camera system be connected to an existing network?
- Yes, and if the network is weak, we will say so. Sometimes it is sensible to isolate cameras into their own VLAN. Assessment is part of the consultation.
- How much does it cost?
- The price depends on the number of cameras, cabling, building type and retention period. After consultation you will receive a fixed quote by email, not an estimate. Consultation and design are free of charge.
